(AGI) - Rozzano, 16 apr. - E' stato il vicepresidente esecutivo di Telecom Italia, Carlo Buora, ad annunciare all'assemblea la notizia di un probabile ritiro di AT&T dalla 'corsa' per il controllo dell'azienda. Lo ha fatto leggendo un'agenzia di stampa. Qualche applauso e' salito dalla platea.

AT&T Inc. has withdrawn from its offer for a stake in a holding company that controls Telecom Italia S.p.A., a move that triggered protests in Italy over the possibility of a foreign company becoming a major shareholder in the telecom, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Pirelli & C. SpA had been in exclusive talks to sell 66% of its stake in Olimpia SpA, which controls Telecom Italia, to AT&T and its Mexican partner America Movil SA.
The move, however, set off a storm of debate because it would have made foreign companies the two single largest shareholders ..
